Theme
“Dutch Resistance: Orange Shall Overcome!” is a board game about the Dutch resistance against the German occupation of the Netherlands during the Second World War. The focus of the game is on teamwork and the personal choices players make for their characters. Everything in the game is historically based and the characters for the players are all real people who were part of the resistance. These people appear in the game thanks to approval by the people themselves, their families, or an organization that authorizes the use of their name and story in products.

Game Mechanics & Structure
The game is scenario-based, and each scenario deals with a different aspect of the Dutch resistance. Each scenario lasts about 60-90 minutes to play. The players win the scenario by completing the specific scenario goal, with each one focusing on one part of the type of resistance work and activities done by the Dutch resistance during the war. These are things such as expanding the network of places to get help, keeping people safe, or moving illegal goods like a camera or newspapers from the resistance.
During the game, players interact with the other characters and use the abilities of the 13 locations on the board. These are partly different for each scenario, with a unique layout. Two of the main mechanics are pick-up-and-deliver and resource management. One of the main things that players need to keep in mind is their courage and alibi, which lower through player actions and unmanaged occupier cards that get resolved each turn. The game is lost if at least one character reaches 0 alibi, if all morale is lost, or if any scenario-specific loss conditions have been met.
